Launch Your Online Business in Just 7 Days
What do colorful socks, Amazon, and entrepreneurship have in common?
Beau Crabill.
If you want to start an eCommerce business, you’ve probably heard of Beau Crabill and his courses. But for every word of praise, there is criticism.
In this article, I’m back on my usual beat, reviewing entrepreneurs. Today, I’m taking a look at Beau Crabill’s courses and tools.
Let’s see if listening to him is worth it!
Beau Crabill is an eCommerce expert, known mainly for his Amazon FBA and eCommerce courses.
According to his website, his entrepreneurial adventures started in 2011, when Nike dropped a collection of socks.
People went crazy for them, and Beau got the idea to dyethem.
After all, if folks went crazy over socks that came out in only 4 colors, they’d love colorful ones too, right?
Now, socks aren’t a fundamental part of every entrepreneur’s development, but they sure were a part of Crabill’s journey.
He made around $1,200 selling colorful socks at school before the principal said he had to stop, but it planted a nugget in his mind:
What if he could make money selling products online?
That was back in 2011.
Today, it’s pretty clear how profitable eCommerce can be.
Fortunately, Crabill wasn’t discouraged when they made him stop selling his socks on school grounds.
He simply switched to eBay and Amazon, where he sold products all through high school.
His online success ultimately made him decide to drop out of college so he could focus on eCommerce and courses.
I’m talking about his Amazon FBA course, which is still massively popular today.
Now, this is all well and good, but can Crabill put his money where his mouth is?
Here’s the thing: there isn’t any information on Beau Crabill’s net worth.
However, he has been known to show his real-time sales information during his courses.
But let’s keep it simple.
His Amazon FBA course is currently $2,497. He claims he’s had over 4,000 students join to date.
Ultimately, that amounts to: $9,988,000.
And when you also consider the fact that he has multiple courses, as well as speaking arrangements, Beau Crabill’s net worth can easily be estimated to at least $10 million.
Pretty good for a guy who got started selling socks, isn’t it?
But let’s see what Beau does these days, and what you can learn from him:
Beau Crabill’s Amazon FBA course is the main course he’s known for, and for a good reason:
It’s a great crash course for eCommerce beginners.
However, keep in mind that with Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon), you don’t have to handle warehousing and shipping. Amazon will handle all of it for you.
However, it’s not dropshipping per se - you’ll still have to pay for the items, and have them delivered to Amazon’s warehouses.
This makes it a little pricier to get started than standard dropshipping, but it’s a good option for starting an online business.
This course will teach you all the essentials of making it big with Amazon FBA.
Crabill starts off by talking about the foundations; from setting up a legal entity, to choosing between different options.
Then, he dives straight into the thick of it: sales hacks.
Notably, he talks about Amazon Buy Box that will promote your products for you.
Then, he talks about product research. What’s interesting is that he focuses on analytics.
Instead of talking about product research tools, he clarifies sales rank history and other aspects.
Supplier management gets whopping 5 modules!
I personally love this because yes - your suppliers are your alpha and omega.
If you have reliable suppliers who ship high-quality products, you’ll avoid a lot of headaches.
Finally, Crabill also covers ungating in his courses. Ungating is the process of becoming qualified to sell restricted products on Amazon.
Now, you may not want to sell restricted products, but it sure gives you a competitive advantage.
Other niches are very saturated because everyone can access them. However, restricted categories have fewer sellers.
If you enroll in Beau Crabill’s Amazon FBA course, you’ll also get:
This is pretty decent.
However, Beau Crabill’s Amazon FBA course costs $2,497 which just seems excessive to me.
For starters, my main problem is that he hadn’t touched on promotion or online branding, AKA the main differentiators for your Amazon FBA eCommerce business.
I mean, that might be in some of the other courses he offers, but you either keep it simple and give people everything they need in one course, or you don’t.
All in all, Beau Crabill’s Amazon FBA course is a good option for beginners.
However, be prepared to spend a lot of time going through extra resources within the package, or doing your own research.
If you like the idea of Crabill’s Amazon FBA course but think the pricing is too step, then go for Online Retail Mastery.
It pretty much covers the same lessons, but it’s significantly cheaper at $997.
You’ll get extra training, automation scripts, and access to the FB group, but you’ll pay a lot less!
Disclaimer: I’m not a cheapskate, but I firmly believe in investing in your business.
While you do have to invest in your education, it’s important to stick to reliable sources, and minimize your costs whenever you can.
eBay logo
eBay is a solid option for getting more sales for your online business. And Beau Crabill’s eBay course is a good 101 if this is your first eBay experience.
(It’s cheap, too! $197)
What can you expect to learn?
All in all, this is a decent course for total beginners.
Crabill even touches on some of the most profitable categories, such as selling phones.
You’ll also get field tricks for sourcing productsfrom the likes of Craigslist and garage sales.
Sure, it’d be nice if Crabill talked about marketing and sales a bit more, and offered extra goodies like he does with his other courses, but his eBay course is lean and it’ll give you a quick breakdown of everything you need to know to get started.
Beau Crabill also made his very own Amazon product research tool.
What does Crabill’s Analyzer Tool do?
The Analyzer Tool does exactly what it says on the tin: it scans thousands of Amazon products to show you the most profitable ones.
You can filter by:
Analyzer's dashboard
All in all, it’s a nice idea, but I’m not sure that the tool can compete with other establish product research tools.
You can get Crabill’s Analyzer for $39.99/month.
And now onto the thing I’m most excited to talk about...
Crabill also has a 4-day free training for future Amazon sellers.
I won’t talk about it too much. It’s the same course material you can see in the courses I covered earlier.
What I want to talk about is his landing page, and his sales funnel.
Crabill can teach you a few things about eCommerce, but as I always like to say: “Do as they do, not as they say.”
In order to sell his courses, Beau Crabill uses a sales funnel builder like ClickFunnels and systeme.io.
A sales funnel is a model that helps you adapt to your customers’ journeys, and convince them that your product is the best at every touch point.
And when they’ve converted, a sales funnel can help you maximize their value and up-sell them.
For example, this free training is a great example of a lead magnet, a piece of content that’s so valuable your prospects will give you their email address just to receive it.
His landing page is simple, but persuasive.
He uses what Russell Brunson calls “direct response copy” in his book, Expert Secrets.
The key is to convince your prospects of your product’s value:
Now, this is a lengthy, but effective process.
There are sales funnels for pretty much everything - from eCommerce, to courses like the ones Beau Crabill sells.
Unfortunately, you can’t do it manually.
You need to automate your sales funnel so it converts leads even while you sleep, and up-sells your customers.
After all, it’s much easier to retain a customer than it is to acquire a new one.
Beau Crabill can teach you how to optimize your product listings on Amazon and eBay, but systeme.io can give you the tools you need to increase your sales everywhere.
Systeme.io's dashboard
And more!
Systeme.io also has plenty of templates for different types of funnels, too!
You can set up a funnel as effective as Crabill’s in just a few minutes, and you don’t have to write a single line of code.
Systeme.io has 4 plans that range from $0 to $97 per month.
It’s the most affordable all-in-one marketing platform.
So after you graduate from Crabill’s courses, don’t waste the momentum.
Sign up for systeme.io, get your freemium account, implement your knowledge, and get the revenue you deserve!
