If you’ve got a mighty need to embark on your own entrepreneurial journey, you’ll need a good mentor.
And if you can’t find a physical mentor, I’ll do my best to provide you with an online coach who can help!
Today, I’ll review Anik Singal, CEO of Lurn.
Who is he, what’s his net worth, and what can you learn from him?
It’s time to find out!
Anik Singal is an online entrepreneur, best known for his company, Lurn.
Unlike other entrepreneurs who say they’ve started doing business in high school, Anik Singal is vocal about coming from a family that wanted him to become a doctor.
And for a while, he worked hard to fulfill their dreams.
However, the desire to strike out on his own never really stopped.
Singal decided to drop out of his pre-med program, and enrolled in business school.
Unlike his entrepreneurial peers, Singal didn’t break even in the first few months.
It took him 18 months to make money online.
In my opinion, that makes him a whole lot more credible than other entrepreneurs.
It’s easy to talk about your successes, but it takes skill to turn your failures into lessons.
Right now, Anik Singal’s net worth is approximated at $23 million.
That’s a far cry from the guy who dropped out of pre-med, and started earning money online after trying a hail Mary method.
Today, Anik Singal is frequently mentioned and praised by Bloomberg, Inc. 500, and other reputable business journals.
He makes the majority of his money through his courses and coaching, sharing his advice with people who want to start or improve their online businesses.
Anik Singal’s Lurn Nation is a membership site with a collection of entrepreneurship and marketing courses.
Lurn currently has a library of over 100 online courses, with almost 400,000 students.
In addition to courses, you’ll also be able to connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs in the Lurn Nation community.
Now, this is my jam!
I personally believe that you’ve got to give people a free trial before you ask them to commit.
Lurn offers both paid and free courses.
Free courses include:
There’s really something for everyone.
The length of courses varies; you can complete some in 2 hours, while others will give you 100s of hours of learning material.
Lurn's home page
Singal also assembled a great team of experts in different fields; Robert Kiyosaki teaches finance, Les Brown teaches personal development, and Anik Singal is at the helm with digital marketing.
Paid courses include:
Now, Anik Singal’s paid courses are significantly more expensive than other courses on the market.
For example, the FB Ads course will set you back for $697, and Email Startup Incubator is one of the most expensive Lurn courses at $997.
I’m not a fan of the pricing. You can get these resources online for free.
However, if you want to get started ASAP, then Lurn might be a good fit.
Finally, an entrepreneur can - and should - pick favorites. When it comes to Anik Singal, he recommends a few courses in particular:
Publish Academy is a course meant for entrepreneurs who want to start an online business selling their own knowledge.
In English: if you want to create and sell your courses, this is the course for you.
The topic is covered in depth; you’ll get over 121 hours of learning material.
I also like how Singal touches on the importance of sales funnels, as they’re one of the most effective sales mechanisms for online marketing (I’ll talk about them more in a sec).
Inbox Blueprint AKA Email Startup Incubator is Anik Singal’s email marketing course with over 600 hours of learning material.
There are 8 actual modules, but you’ll get access to interviews with email marketing experts and entrepreneurs who’ve made bank with email marketing.
The field experience is a great touch.
Copywriting is one of the most important aspects of your marketing.
(Even Russell Brunson talks about direct response copywriting in his book, DotCom Secrets.)
Your copywriting should make your visitors take immediate action.
If you’ve checked out the courses I mentioned in this article, you’ve probably noticed a distinct style.
He’s addressing your pain points, and reminding you of the goals you want to achieve.
Then he tells you how you can do it with his courses.
That’s classic direct response copywriting right there!
Now, copywriting isn’t that easy, which is exactly why you should seriously consider Copywriting Bootcamp.
Firstly, it’s free.
Secondly, Singal covers all the writing tricks you need to know to convert more.
Look, we all want to get visitors as cheaply as possible.
Social media definitely got us hooked on the idea that we didn’t have to pay to play.
Still, organic (free) reach is constantly going down, and getting free traffic is getting harder by the minute.
... or so it seems.
Free Traffic Bootcamp discusses all the ways of getting free (organic) traffic from major channels: Google, YouTube, Instagram, and more.
This is a great crash course for beginners because it’s: a) free, b) great at explaining the basics of search engine optimization for not only Google, but YouTube and other platforms as well.
eCom Bootcamp, taught by Fred Lam, is a good crash course if you want to start an online business selling physical products.
While Lam will cover the basics, he also talks about advertising and marketing a lot.
It’s nice to see tripwire strategy and Facebook pixel mentioned because they’re crucial to eCommerce sales success.
This course is free, and you’ll get 5 hours of video content.
All in all, Anik Singal’s Lurn courses are a good fit for beginners and intermediate online business owners.
I recommend starting with the free courses first, and then upgrading.
In addition to being an online entrepreneur with a successful membership site, Singal also wrote 4 books:
eSCAPE is definitely the book Singal is widely known for.
It primarily deals with entrepreneurial mindset, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for actionable business and marketing advice.
Unlike eSCAPE, The Email Lifeline is a lot more actionable.
In this book, Singal explains his email marketing formula that will help you convert leads while you sleep.
(Pro tip: the answer is automation and copywriting.)
If you want to start a digital publishing business, then Passion to Profit is the right book for you.
While the title is somewhat catch-all, Singal primarily talks about the benefits of digital publishing, and gives a few handy pointers.
However, you’d be better off taking a Lurn course.
The Circle of Profit deals with digital publishing, as well.
From courses to eBooks, Anik Singal takes his tried & true method and analyzes it so you get the insights.
For a while, Singal used this book to promote “Anik Singal’s Profit Academy,” a project that’s been replaced by Lurn.
Are you really a popular entrepreneur if you don’t have a podcast?
Everyone and their mothers have a podcast nowadays, but the question is:
Is Anik Singal’s podcast worth it?
You’ll see a diverse mix of topics, all connected to entrepreneurship, sales, and marketing.
Also, Anik Singal’s podcast is exactly what I mean when I say his courses are overpriced.
If you’re a frequent listener, you’ll more or less pick up his tricks through the episodes.
However, if you want to get all the knowledge at once, then by all means - go for the courses.
Nope, Anik Singal’s products are not a scam.
However, if you expect instant success right after taking his courses, you’re in the wrong place.
There’s no perfect formula for entrepreneurial success, and Anik Singal reviews demonstrate that.
But if you take a look at how Singal earns money, you’ll be able to replicate it with your own business. ;)
Anik Singal uses sales funnels to increase his sales.
First, you’re baited with free courses. In order to access them, you have to give him your email address.
Then, after you’re convinced his courses are worth it, you decide to upgrade to a paid course.
The same goes for his books - if you like the way he thinks, you’re more likely to pay for one of his courses.
His free courses, his books...
These are all lead magnets.
And as soon as you download one, you’re entering his sales funnel.
The perfect sales funnel should contain:
It’s that simple!
However, you’d normally have to do it all yourself.
When a lead signs up, you’d have to manually send them your lead magnet, and then follow-up with them to turn them into a customer.
The alternative is paying for dozens of tools. (And the costs add up, trust me.)
For as little as $27/month, you’re getting the entire marketing machine you need within one tool - systeme.io:
So, what do you say?
Are you ready to become more successful than Singal?
