Email marketing is one of the most powerful tools in your marketing toolbox.
With an average ROI of $44 for every $1 you spend, email marketing is a game-changer.
However, email marketing is not the only thing you need to reduce your costs and generate more revenue.
Recently, ConvertKit has noticed an uptick in customers. But ConvertKit is not the only marketing service you can use.
In this article, I’ll show you the best ConvertKit alternatives. And unlike ConvertKit, some of these alternatives are all-in-one marketing platforms.
Let’s take a look!
ConvertKit is essentially an email marketing tool, but with a few cool catches.
I already wrote about ConvertKit features in depth here.
Add people to your mailing list, and launch an automated email nurturing sequence to turn your leads into customers.
This is pretty handy, especially since you can completely automate it.
Visual automations builder
You can divide different types of subscribers according to their similarities, and create personalized content for each group.
For example, you can organize your subscribers by their interests (e.g. they downloaded a particular eBook lead magnet), purchases (e.g. they purchased a specific product type), activities, and more.
This is really important, folks!
After all, we all love personalized offers more than generic offers.
Another handy feature that ConvertKit offers are landing page builders.
This is great!
It’s important to have different landing pages for different products so you can personalize at scale.
When I see ConvertKit offering this, I know we’re moving in the right direction.
Okay, here’s where I stop liking what I see.
Your ConvertKit price depends on the number of your subscribers.
Yes, they do offer a free account, but it’s only for up to 500 subscribers, and you don’t get automation, reporting, or integrations.
If you want all the features and you have up to 1,000 subscribers, you’ll have to pay $29/month.
If you have up to 3,000 subscribers, the price grows to $49/month, and so on.
That’s why I’m going to check out great ConvertKit alternatives that offer a lot more.
If you only want email marketing, you should check out:
I’ve already spoken about email marketing tools in this article.
Feel free to check it out!
In general, email marketing platforms only offer simple landing page builders and marketing automation.
Only a few offer visual automation builders.
When it comes to ConvertKit alternatives for email marketing, you should be looking for:
MailChimp’s powerful audience segmentation
In addition to creating separate lists, great email marketing tools should give you the ability to set powerful filters for content personalization.
For example, this MailChimp example shows that you can set up to 5 email marketing filters to tighten your targeting.
You can segment subscribers according to their email activity, purchases, and even behavior.
AWeber’s example of automated email marketing funnels
This is another very useful feature - visual automation builders.
With these, you can create your customers’ email marketing experience.
For example, if they subscribed because of lead magnet A, they’ll get different follow-up emails than people who subscribed for lead magnet B.
ActiveCampaign’s split testing example
A/B testing is one of the conversion optimization staples.
ActiveCampaign lets you test everything from content, to calls to action.
Additionally, ActiveCampaign also lets you test automation flows.
In my opinion, that’s what makes it one of the best ConvertKit alternatives if you only need email marketing.
And if you want an all-in-one marketing platform, let’s check out...
We’ve all gotten used to paying for separate tools for our marketing needs.
We host our websites on this platform, conduct our email marketing through that platform, and so on.
Fortunately, that no longer has to be the case.
I’m overjoyed that there are so many great one-stop marketing platforms!
I frequently review them, and I’m going to show you a few that have email marketing capabilities to parallel ConvertKit’s.
Let’s take a look!
ClickFunnels allows you to create high-converting sales funnels.
What does that mean?
Sales funnel steps
Who should use ClickFunnels?
In my opinion, ClickFunnels works best for digital products, coaching, consulting, and network marketing.
However, the sales funnel based approach is a great asset for eCommerce in general. It can help you even if you sell physical products.
ClickFunnels has two pricing plans:
All things considered, ClickFunnels is a great ConvertKit alternative.
It definitely offers more than just email marketing. In my book, that’s enough to give it an A.
I wrote an in-depth review of ClickFunnels a while ago, so make sure you check it out if you want to learn more.
Systeme.io is one of the most powerful alternatives to ConvertKit and other all-in-one marketing platforms.
Who should use Systeme.io?
This combination of features means that you no longer have to pay separately for different marketing services, or jump through hoops to be able to run a dropshipping online business.
I got tired of paying for different tools, and watching my costs rise. It took too much time, and money.
I just wanted results.
And this sentiment was what informed my work on Systeme.io.
That’s why it has comprehensive features, from email marketing to support for all kinds of businesses.
Dropshipping? Not a problem with Systeme.io
No matter what you sell (physical or digital products, services), charge access for (webinars, courses, membership sites), you’ll have a reliable partner in Systeme.io.
You probably noticed that I have a huge problem with non-transparent pricing. Is it too much to ask for a few plans that tell me what I can get for my $$$?
That’s why Systeme.io comes in three very clear plans:
The main advantage of Systeme.io is that it’s a one-stop shop for all your marketing needs.
And with visual editors, advanced sales elements, and a powerful email marketing tool integrated within the software, Systeme.io can help you generate more sales than ever before.
On the lookout for one-stop marketing shops, I frequently come across Kartra.
Why do people like Kartra?
Online business owners like Kartra because it’s got a great feature package, and a solid email marketing solution:
Who should use Kartra?
First of all, Kartra is a great choice for people who are starting their online business for the first time.
It’ll eliminate the hassle of working with and paying for dozens of different tools.
Visual page builder
They also have special elements for agencies, so agencies can manage clients through Kartra.
Still, I think that if you have an agency, you’ll need a more powerful CRM solution.
I also like that they have membership site support, so if that’s your jam, keep on rockin’!
I get a headache when I see too many detailed plans, and I’m guessing you do, too.
So let’s try to simplify Kartra pricing:
Obviously, Kartra is a great alternative to ConvertKit because it offers more features than ConvertKit alone.
However, you can see that they’re spreading themselves thin by trying to moonlight as a CRM system.
If you can only onboard up to 50,000 leads with the most expensive package, you could run out of room.
The same goes for bandwidth.
Unfortunately, a jack of all trades is a master of none.
Okay, I really, really like Kajabi.
It was originally designed as an all-in-one marketing platform for online businesses that offer courses.
However, it’s come a long way.
What does Kajabi offer?
Kajabi is a pretty versatile tool, offering:
Who should use Kajabi?
I still stand by their original mission: Kajabi is great for people who want to share (and charge for) their knowledge with courses or membership sites.
If their features replace your other tools, it’s much cheaper to transfer to Kajabi than pay for the tools in your stack separately.
Kajabi has 3 plans:
I personally don’t like the fact that affiliate program is not included in the first plan.
Additionally, their standards make it seem like they want people to commit to the most expensive Pro plan right away.
If you want to sell courses or webinars but find the pricing outrageous, make sure you check out my article on 8 great Kajabi alternatives.
Systeme.io's home page
I’m not even biased when I say it.
It has all the features you need, regardless of your business type.
From sales funnels to email marketing automation, and more, Systeme.io is a great choice for launching your online business.
Plus, the pricing won’t send you into shock. We handle the marketing, you focus on generating your revenue.
