For the aspiring entrepreneur, there are so many resources out there for starting a new business.
From courses to tutorials to self-help guides, it can be a little overwhelming.
It can also be difficult to find the right product for your specific needs, as both good and bad advice can have some great marketing behind it.
Luckily, there are some good eggs out there in terms of coaching products and courses for entrepreneurs and business people.
One popular name that pops up fairly often in this context is Frank Kern, the marketing guru behind a range of products in the online training niche.
His tagline for his line of products really paints a clear picture of what Kern focuses on: “The most dependable and consistent way to generate wealth is to turn advertising into profit.”
If this is true, are Frank Kern’s products worth investing in for the purpose of learning how to generate wealth with advertising?
Who exactly is Frank Kern, and what makes him different from similar marketing gurus?
We’re going to explore all of this and more in our in-depth review of Frank Kern.
First, who exactly is this guy?
Frank Kern is an online digital marketing guru and entrepreneur.
He is the creator of Behavior Dynamic Response, a technique for automated marketing that can help business owners speed up their sales cycles by personalizing their marketing and advertising message based on target audience behavior.
Kern is also an internet marketing and business consultant and copywriter.
He currently sells a wealth of products, mostly in the category of business self-help courses. (More on these later.)
Some of Frank Kern’s approaches and techniques when it comes to successful marketing are quite useful, but he mostly became famous for, essentially, marketing himself as a unique perspective in an otherwise stale world of business.
Back in the day, he was known for boasting a surfer-like appearance and was often raw and uncensored in a lot of his courses and products.
Kern is from Las Vegas and currently lives in San Diego with his wife and children.
Frank Kern’s net worth is approximately $35 million as of 2020, according to aggregate websites.
All of Kern’s income comes from his online services, which range from marketing consultation to business aid to dating advice.
Frank Kern sells a wealth of products, specifically in the niche of online training courses.
Kern has dipped into other areas of self-help and marketing as well, but we’ll dive into those later.
To start, let’s take a look at his online courses.
Behavior Dynamic Response is a technique that Frank Kern developed for successful internet marketing.
This technique works by tracking what a potential customer is doing within an ad campaign and then sends them specific and customized marketing messages based on their behaviors.
For example: A business owner in the painting niche creates a short video for the purpose of attracting new customers.
The video is a long tutorial for painting with the products that the business owner sells.
The initial response indicators for this type of marketing attempt would follow a timeline of starting the video, finishing the video, and clicking the link under the video to view the art store the business owner owns.
A behavior dynamic response to this scenario would involve sending an email to those who did not watch the video to remind them to watch it, and to put a time limit on how long the video would be available.
Behavior dynamic response is a core concept in most of Kern’s products, which include Mass Conversion, Info Business Blueprint, Client Acquisition System, and Ultimate Webinar Blueprint.
Mass Conversion is a month-long online training course designed to teach marketers and business owners how to effectively use lead magnets
Mass Conversion also allows users to:
Marketing level: Beginner and intermediate
Info Business Blueprint is a five-week online course designed to help users develop digital products for online advertising and marketing
Info Business Blueprint also allows users to:
Marketing level: Intermediate and advanced
The Client Acquisition System is another five-week-long online course.
It is specifically designed for consultants, coaches, and service providers and can be seen as the “coach’s course for coaching.”
Mostly, this course explores how to get and keep clients, coach them in a way that adds value to your business, and how to use Omnipresence to attract prospects.
The Client Acquisition System also allows users to:
Marketing level: intermediate and advanced
The longest and most intensive of Kern’s courses, the Ultimate Webinar Blueprint is a twenty-eight-day online training course that teaches users how to create the best possible webinars that make the most money.
This, like Client Acquisition System, seems to be designed for coaches or other self-help gurus.
The Ultimate Webinar Blueprint also allows users to:
Marketing level: Beginner and intermediate
“The real secret to success is to get out there and work like hell.” - Frank Kern
Kern’s been busy for quite a while, and he didn’t stop with just the online courses.
There are a number of Frank Kern books out there, including:
Kern also briefly explored the world of podcasts as well.
The Frank Kern podcast is called “Your Next Million” and appeared to end sometime in 2019.
Frank Kern also briefly hosted a Facebook Live show called The Frank Kern Show in 2016.
If your e-commerce business is very much customer-focused, then Frank Kern has some serious use cases to consider.
In an interview for the Huffington Post, Kern talked about how he views marketing as something that should completely about the customer.
“There’s a misconception among business people that it’s about the ‘thing’ they’re selling or it’s about the marketing they’re doing to sell that ‘thing,” said Kern, “It’s never about the thing you’re selling (which, of course, should be excellent).
The most important thing is the market, the people that the thing is going to be sold to.
There must be an existing market of people who are intensely interested in getting the result that the thing promises and that the thing must deliver. Without the focus on that first, all is lost.”
Kern went on to talk about adding value to a marketing campaign.
“Metaphorically, if you have someone who’s hungry and you give them a little bit of food, you’ve only whetted their appetite and they’re going to be hungrier.
So the methodology I like to use is pull, instead of push. You make your marketing itself valuable to the end-user and when you do that, they come to you.
You don’t have to chase them. You don’t have to use the hype. You don’t have to bash them over the head or any of that. Just demonstrate you can help them by actually helping them. It’s a novel concept.”
Frank Kern’s philosophy for marketing is interesting because it heavily relies on absorbing whatever content he pushes through his products and courses, but he’s also a fairly staunch supporter of using communication tools for marketing that are quite cheap.
In an episode of the podcast Perpetual Traffic from back in 2016, Kern was asked for his advice for maximizing end-result for opt-in or sale.
“I would say to think long-term,” Kern told podcaster Keith Krance, “The sales and the money from the show [The Frank Kern Show on Facebook Live] have really been an ancillary benefit. The show is really built for that binge-watcher and to deliver goodwill, so I wouldn’t go into it, expect, ‘I’m going to do this show and I’m going to see this many sales from it.’ [...] It’s not a significant amount of money, anyway, it’s thirteen grand or whatever, considering the reach, that’s really nothing. My advice to anyone starting it would be A, to start it, just get […] a $20 iPhone holder and just talk. I’ve done them [Facebook Live streams] from the car, with interviews from the car. It doesn’t matter, but just do something, do it consistently, have a structure where there’s a specific mission for every show you’re doing. Today, this was all about this Moda process for solving problems and maximizing efficiency. Last week’s show was about copy. Always have a specific mission.”
Kern is also adamant about the fact that he does not offer “get rich quick” schemes to his clients, but rather prefers to offer useful and actionable advice to business owners who are struggling to get conversions in a way that matters.
On the negative side, Kern’s products are extremely expensive, tipping the scales at over $4,000 for some programs.
In any case, we’d have to say that Kern is worth checking out simply because he’s not constantly pedaling the money side of things.
He offers lessons and advice for building a business and marketing affectively-- it’s as simple as that.
We recommend looking at more of his free content to see if you’re really in the market for purchasing his more expensive products.
