Become the hero of your own story.
That’s one of the messages Lewis Howes stands for.
A former professional football player, motivational speaker, and a business consultant, Lewis Howes wears many hats.
And as someone who loves reviewing online entrepreneurs, I’m here today to tell you everything about the man and his work.
Who is Lewis Howes, what’s his net worth, and what can you learn from him?
It’s time to find out!
You’ve probably heard of Lewis Howes by way of his New York Times bestsellers, one of which is The School of Greatness: A Real-World Guide to Living Bigger, Loving Deeper, and Leaving a Legacy, or his coaching membership program, Inner Circle.
But no matter what you heard, Howes certainly has an interesting backstory.
Let’s start from the beginning!
At the time of writing, Howes is 37 years old.
Born in 1983, he already has quite a biography under his belt.
Even though Howes was born in Delaware, Ohio, he went to Principia High School in St. Louis, Missouri.
Even though Principia is a school affiliated with Christian Scientists, Howes had no problem fitting in: it was the religion he was raised in.
The move from Ohio to Missouri was intentional: Howes was passionate about football, and he was planning to play professionally.
And even though Howes was great at football, even playing Arena Football.
Unfortunately, he got injured in 2007 and there was no returning to football for him.
After seeing handball at the Beijing Olympics, he got inspired to transition into a new sport.
Friends advised him to use LinkedIn to find new opportunities and clubs that would accept him.
But instead of getting drafted, Howes got mesmerized by the idea of LinkedIn networking.
He started a group for sports executives, and it grew to 10,000 members in just one year.
The members of the group started getting in touch with him, thanking him for the opportunities they found through it, and even going so far as to ask Howes to coach them on using LinkedIn for business.
Howes started organizing regular mixers and presentations, sharing his knowledge with the world.
And just like that, he went from being broke on his sister’s couch to earning over $6,000 in training signups.
He incorporated with a partner, and his company selling webinars and online training materials earned $1 million in the first year.
He also made the Olympic handball team, just like he wanted.
Since Howes seems to be very successful, I had to ask myself: what is Lewis Howes’ net worth?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Howes’ net worth is currently $10 million, which is a respectable sum for an online entrepreneur.
Howes’ sports endeavors actually made the smallest portion of his net worth.
Instead, Howes generated the majority of his money through online entrepreneurship: coaching, speaking, training programs, as well as his membership program.
What can you learn from him?
Howes has been vocal about his journey, as well as his marketing skills.
He wrote 3 books to sum up his experiences:
The cover of the book "The Mask of Masculinity"
In The Mask of Masculinity, a USA Today bestseller rated 4.6/5 on Amazon, Howes talks to psychologists and celebrities like Tony Robbins and Alanis Morissette.
Understanding all the masks we (and especially men) wear in the course of their lives.
Just like the majority of books written by online entrepreneurs, The Mask of Masculinity comes with a few bonuses:
The Mask of Masculinity is a self-discovery book, so I’m not going to dig deep into the topics covered there.
Still, it’s a good read if you’re still shaping your entrepreneurial mindset.
The cover of the book "The School of Greatness"
The School of Greatness is another bestseller written by Lewis Howes (it currently has a 4.7/5 rating on Amazon), and it’s the book he’s best known for.
This book is actually a framework for personal (and entrepreneurial) development.
Again, Howes likes discussing the mindset best - he believes self-discovery is crucial to entrepreneurial success.
That’s why, in The School of Greatness, Howes interviews notable figures such as Olympic gold medalists and CEOs.
Uncovering all the tools and frameworks you can use to cultivate success.
The School of Greatness was a natural byproduct of his wildly popular podcast of the same name, and it’s a great read for people who are looking to entrepreneurship as a way out of the lives they’re no longer comfortable with.
Just like with The Mask of Masculinity, Howes offers a few bonuses for The School of Greatness, as well:
The cover of the book "The Millionaire Morning"
Finally, the last book under Lewis Howes’ belt is The Millionaire Morning, an eBook chock-full of practical advice that stems from the habits of ultra-successful people.
It’s a light, but useful read, especially if you find yourself sloughing through your day and you need to find a way to sustain motivation.
In addition to the eBook, you’ll get bonuses:
And since this eBook is just $7,99, it’s pretty clear it’s a lead magnet - a crucial step in Howes’ sales funnel.
But more on that later.
Howes actually made it big with his training programs, and Inner Circle is a natural extension of his previous activities.
Inner Circle logo
Inner Circle consists of three parts:business education with a library of masterclasses, coaching calls with Howes and his team, and the Inner Circle community of students/entrepreneurs.
The masterclasses and coaching calls are a nice touch, especially because Howes often brings along experts at different types of marketing, such as:
The majority of his guests are renowned marketing and branding experts, so they’ve got plenty of field experience.
At the same time, they keep you interested and help you experiment with different ways to market your business and build an online brand.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure how useful Inner Circle is when you’ve found what works for your business and you want unique ways to scale.
However, there are the coaching calls and the community, so that can be useful.
If you choose to pay the annual sum at once, you’ll also get:
Inner Circle is $99/month.
That’s a hefty price tag, but if you’re just starting out, Inner Circle can be pretty useful.
However, if you already have significant previous knowledge, you’d be better off finding specific courses and memberships for marketing methods that work for you.
First things first, The Greatness Mastermind community isn’t open to anyone who doesn’t earn at least $500,000 a year.
Personally, I don’t find that to be a nice, nor a smart move.
When you combine big earners with new business owners, you get a synergy of thought.
Big earners find out what’s new on the market.
They see which methods would work if they were starting out that day.
In the long term, that can help them see how they can promote their (new) businesses, and stay ahead of the game.
At the same time, new business owners can learn tried and true ways of succeeding online.
So if you’re not getting that, what are you getting?
The Greatness Mastermind is a program for entrepreneurs who earn more than $500,000/year and want to leave a long-lasting impact on their industry.
You will learn how to:
So it’s really just a scaled Inner Circle, with a few VIP perks:
The main reason why you’d want to join The Greatness Mastermind is networking, and access to top-earning entrepreneurs.
Past guests included:
When you want to make it truly big, it’s not always what you know.
Often, it’s who you know.
And with access to successful entrepreneurs, you can get opportunities you wouldn’t get elsewhere.
So yes, it’s definitely worth it.
Finally, Howes also runs a podcast, The School of Greatness, that inspired the book of the same name, and helped him reach the heights of entrepreneurial success.
He interviews everyone from entrepreneurs to other celebrities, discussing topics such as:
It’s a great mix of content, so I sincerely recommend it!
I’m a firm believer in looking at what successful entrepreneurs do, not what they say.
And what I can see Howes doing is using sales funnels.
Sales funnels are a method of attracting, converting, and maximizing the value of your leads.
For example, Howes starts with a $7,99 eBook that upsells you to his courses and training.
That eBook and his podcast are his lead magnets.
From there, you’re added to his mailing list so you can keep consuming his content until you’re ready to commit to a pricier program.
Howes became pretty successful thanks to his sales funnels, and so can you!
The best part?
You can do it all visually, by dragging and dropping the sections you want on your websites, pages, and membership sites.
At at $27/month, there’s really no reason not to sign up for systeme.io and show Howes what you can do.
It’s your time!
