OptimizePress Review: Is It Worth It?

OptimizePress review

When you’re starting a new online business, the more sales you can get in the first few months, the better.

If you start off strong, you’ll be able to generate more traction in the long term.

But the question is: how can you make sure your sales rapidly grow, even when you’re new on the market?

With an effective sales funnel and landing pages that convert.

In this OptimizePress review, I’m going to show you how OptimizePress templates help you create a landing page in WordPress, and how that helps you start your business on the right note.

Let’s take a look!

1. Wait, what are landing pages and sales funnels, and why do I need them?

If you haven’t run an online business before, you may be wondering why the heck everyone seems to care about landing pages so much.

Here’s the thing: landing pages are standalone web pages directly connected to your marketing campaigns.

A customer ‘lands’ on them after clicking a link, received in an email or from an ad.

The main tool of your landing pages is your CTA (call to action)

You want to make your customers act immediately, or encourage direct sales.

Your landing page converts visitors into leads (lead generation) - allowing you to use your sales funnel to turn them into customers.

Landing pages are also an integral part of your sales funnel, which is a method of visualizing the way your visitors turn into leads into customers.

If you structure your sales funnel well, you’ll be able to convert a lot more people, increasing your sales as you go.

But more on that later.

Let me explain what part OptimizePress and other tools like it play in your sales funnel:

2. What is OptimizePress?

OptimizePress logo

OptimizePress logo

OptimizePress is a WordPress landing page builder.

I’ll dive into the specifics in a bit, but here’s what you need to know about OptimizePress:

  • You can build landing pages to convert visitors into leads, and get their information
  • You can build sales pages that turn visitors and leads into customers

So if you run your site on WordPress, you can easily integrate OptimizePress to visually build your pages.

You can get OptimizePress theme for WordPress, or use their plugins.

And nope - you don’t have to write a single line of code, or pay a web designer to get things set up for you.

3. A breakdown of the most important OptimizePress features

OptimizePress features

3.1. OptimizePress WordPress landing page templates

OptimizePress WordPress landing page templates

There is no need to design landing pages by yourself.

This platform includes a wide variety of beautiful landing page templates.

They’re also sorted into categories, so it only takes minutes to create a WordPress landing page that will help you:

  • Build your subscriber base
  • Get more webinar registrations
  • Book more clients

3.2. Create a landing page in WordPress with OptimizePress’ visual editor

OptimizePress’ visual editor

OptimizePress’ visual editor is one of the most helpful features of this software.

Instead of continuous back-end loading and guessing, OptimizePress has an integrated page builder with real-time editing.

This is one of the star features, since it saves your time, and makes editing instant and easy

You’ll be able to build a smooth website quickly and efficiently, without coding knowledge.

OptimizePress’ visual editor

This is where personalization happens!

Once you’ve chosen your template, you can add various features which will make your own page more attractive, and convert more leads.

They offer a variety of elements; from images, videos, headlines to social icons, as well as page elements that drive conversion:

  • Lead gen forms
  • Countdown timers
  • Progress bars

And more!

Also, I was pleasantly surprised as to how easy it is to change different elements and drag & drop different sections to flesh out your landing page.

I’d say that if you know how to use PowerPoint, you’ll know how to use OptimizePress.

3.3. Build membership sites

membership sites

Once you purchase an OptimizePress plan, you will have your own membership dashboard.

This is where you will get all the help you need to create and grow your membership site.

You can make accounts and build you own membership portal, and create content like articles and courses.

Unfortunately, OptimizePress’ membership sites aren’t as powerful as systeme.io, Kajabi, or Teachable’s.

There are still a lot of features in waiting, so I’d recommend using OptimizePress only for sporadic membership content

I wouldn’t recommend using OP for a full-fledged membership business.

3.4. Doing business on different devices

Mobile optimization

Since more and more people use their phones for research and shopping, you have to make sure your landing pages work on different devices.

With OptimizePress, mobile responsiveness is the standard.

The templates are fully adaptable for tablets and phones.

Don’t worry, all the elements I mentioned above work on mobile, but you can also edit them out if you think it impairs user experience.

Meaning, you can add some of the elements for desktop use, but remove them for phone use if you don’t like the way they look in the visual preview.

3.5. Marketing funnels

funnel desktop

Remember when I raved about sales and marketing funnels?

Fortunately, OptimizePress gives you plenty of templates to create pages for your “marketing machines.”

You’ll get specific templates for:

  • Launch funnels (New product? No problem!)
  • List-building funnels (Build your email list right, and get $44 for every $1 you spend on email marketing)
  • Sales funnels (Steer your visitors, leads, and customers towards making the purchasing decision)
  • Webinar funnels (Get more registrations for your webinars and membership sites)

And more!

This is definitely one of my favorite aspects of OptimizePress.

Sales funnels rose to popularity with ClickFunnels, and just kept going because they are that effective.

Again, you can completely customize the templates, add or remove sections, and adapt them to your unique business.

Unfortunately, you’ll still need third-party tools for integral functions of your sales funnels, such as email marketing.

3.6. Integrations and funnel automation

Look, OptimizePress isn’t an all-in-one tool like systeme.io, but it does its best to help you manage an effective sales funnel.

It comes with plenty of integrations for different marketing tools:

  • Facebook Ads
  • ActiveCampaign
  • GoToWebinar
  • InfusionSoft

And more!

After you add your integrations and create your pages, you can link your OptimizePress funnel with your third-party marketing tools.

Unfortunately, since you don’t have all the tools in one place, it can get messy.

If you’d like to get an all-in-one tool, read on as I’ll talk about a really great alternative to OptimizePress that comes with a lot more features.

3.7. OptimizePress checkout and payments plugin

salespage checkouts

Here’s the thing: OptimizePress works as an OptimizePress WordPress theme, but it also works as a plugin.

In fact, it’s got quite a few of plugins in store, and checkout and payments is one of them.

You can customize your checkout form, as well as integrate it with your CRM (customer relationship management) software.

Other things you’ll be able to do include:

  • Accept payments with Stripe integration
  • Accept payment in different currencies
  • Add customers to your mailing list
  • Send out lead magnets
  • Review your sales analytics
  • Offer coupons

All in all, this is pretty handy.

However, getting it set up might require professional help, which defeats the point of a landing page builder.

4. Who should use OptimizePress?

OptimizePress officially markets itself to marketers, coaches, and creators (read: freelancers).

Honestly, I agree with them.

A small business that sells physical products (or a variety of products) is going to find all the integrations a complete hassle.

However, if you just need to build a sales page for your services, OptimizePress will work well.

5. OptimizePress pros and cons

Let me break it down:

5.1. OptimizePress pros

  • Over 40 different templates
  • A variety of editing elements
  • Easy-to-use visual editor
  • Mobile responsive
  • Plenty of integrations
  • Good page loading speed
  • No coding skills necessary

5.2. OptimizePress cons

  • Doesn’t offer code customization
  • Limited membership site features
  • All OptimizePress offers by way of marketing funnels are sales pages; other tools offer entire marketing funnels, email marketing included

All in all, OptimizePress is a relatively good choice if you just want to build WordPress landing pages.

But if you want something more powerful, you’ll need to find a different tool.

6. OptimizePress pricing

OptimizePress pricing

You might be wondering if there’s a free trial. Unfortunately, no - you can’t try OptimizePress for free.

The purchases have a 30-day money-back guarantee, though!

OptimizePress has 3 pricing plans:

6.1. OptimizePress Essential plan

A great way to start building your first landing pages.

You get all the important features, but are not overwhelmed by the amount of options.

If you plan on doing serious business with OP, keep going.

6.2. OptimizePress Business plan

Exactly what it says on the tin: if you’re serious, go for this plan, or consider an alternative to OptimizePress.

Scarcity alerts are a nice touch, as they can significantly improve your conversion rate.

Personally, I find OptimizePress to be too expensive for what it offers, but to each their own!

6.3. OptimizePress Suite

Finally, the Suite plan is the first plan that allows you to build marketing funnels.

I personally find that to be a little funny, since all you’ll be able to do is customize landing pages and checkout pages.

This is also the first plan that offers lead gen forms, which is... I wasn’t going to say scandalous but whoop there it is!

And guess what?

You won’t be able to use checkouts plugin with any of the earlier plans, either.

Why am I acting so affronted?

Well, because it’s ridiculous.

Even free software offers lead gen forms nowadays, and you can get free checkout plugins for WordPress.

So if you’re as tired of wasting money as I am, let’s take a look at an alternative to OptimizePress.

7. The best OptimizePress alternative: systeme.io

Systeme.io's dashboard

Systeme.io's dashboard

What does systeme.io have that OptimizePress doesn’t?

For starters, more features.

7.1. Systeme.io is an all-in-one marketing platform

Systeme.io will give you plenty of templates to build your sales and landing pages, but you’ll also get:

  • Website hosting
  • Visual, drag & drop creator for your pages and your sales funnels
  • Powerful membership sites, courses, and webinars
  • Every tool your sales funnel needs: lead management, email marketing, affiliate marketing, and more
  • Email marketing and workflow automation
  • Support for dropshipping and blogging

You don’t need WordPress. You don’t need OptimizePress, or any other tool for your marketing operations.

systeme.io has it covered!

7.2. Systeme.io is cheaper than OptimizePress

Systeme.io's pricing

Secondly, systeme.io has more features, so it effectively replaces a lot of tools you’d need for OptimizePress (notably, email marketing).

And you can create a powerful sales funnel for as little as $27/month!

You can choose from 3 systeme.io pricing plans, depending on your needs.

But even with the first plan, you’ll be able to convert more visitors immediately.

8. Summary

I’ve made my opinion clear.

OptimizePress is a neat add-on to WordPress, but it’s not powerful enough to warrant paying $200 for it.

Every Year.

Systeme.io, which comes with landing page builders, as well as sales funnel automation tools, is a much better choice at a very reasonable price point.

It literally offers a turn-key system that will generate sales while you sleep.
