Vishen Lakhiani Review: Net Worth, Mindvalley, Meditation, and More

Vishen Lakhiani

Vishen Lakhiani

In the quest for mental clarity, enhanced spirituality, and emotional growth, we often seek gurus and self-help experts to help us with this

We’ve all heard of names like Bob Proctor, Tai Lopez, and even Grant Cardone, many would consider a self-help guy.

Out of the woodwork comes Vishen Lakhiani, this guy is a bit lesser known to some, but for others, the name might ring a bell.

The foundations of his teaching help us cut through what he calls “the bullshit rules” that society teaches us to follow.

Instead, he wants you to embrace your own upbringing and develop your own values that you can use to live your best life

At first glance, Vishen Lakhiani, Mindvalley, and all his other business ventures seem helpful to the average person looking to “hack” their lifestyle.

Let’s see if we can cut through the bull and get to the real story behind this guy.

1. Who is Vishen Lakhiani

Vishen Lakhiani

Vishen is an entrepreneur, author, and activist who sets out to raise the level of human consciousness

Right off the bat, you’re likely thinking, okay, we have another self-help guru who says he can help you become more self-aware and accomplish more in your daily life.

I know, but even after a little research, this guy seems to provide actual solutions to help rather than just talking about speaking about it all the time.

We’ll get into some of his products, and things you can buy that will show you more.

In 2003, he founded Mindvalley with the goal of bringing together the world's best educators in one platform.

Since then, a lot of other learning tools have come through under the Mindvalley Umbrella

Vishen has experienced a lot of his own transformation through this process as well.

He’s grown from small speaking engagements to huge crowds and a New York Times bestselling book.

2. What does Vishen believe?

Vishen Lakhiani

It might be hard to understand who this guy is because his thoughts and beliefs are a little out there

My goal here is to help you gain a better understanding of what Vishen is trying to accomplish with all of this self-help stuff. I’ll use his information and what he has to say to guide me.

Vishen believes that humans are capable of incredible things.

We have the ability to grow, create, explore, and love, but the key to achieving awakening is through unity. He says that we need to come together even though most of the systems we live every day are dividing us.

From the second we’re born, we’re put into factions, and the world tries to separate us.

They want to call us a different race, sex, ethnicity, social class, creed, religion, and so on.

Vishen doesn’t believe we should think like that; instead, he believes in the power of togetherness for accomplishment.

In the quest to raise human consciousness, he was inspired by Nelson Mandela’s quote, “If you want to change the world, change education.”

He set out to create a new way for people to learn that would transform education, that is when Mindvalley was born.

Now he has a team of roughly 300 people in 54 countries working to put together education systems that not only educate but that enlighten and enchant.

3. Vishen Lakhiani early life and childhood

He was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with bad eyesight, skin, and Aspergers.

The Malaysian school system was failing him because they didn’t allow for any creativity or outside thinking

You were forced to deal with what Vishen calls “Brules” or “bullshit rules.”

They fed him information on how to be successful, how to worship God, what a family should look like, and why he shouldn’t trust people from foreign countries.

Overall, he hated his schooling, and he hoped every day that he wouldn’t fall sick so he wouldn’t have to go back to the government schooling that he disliked so much.

Upon graduation from high school, he moved to the United States, where he studied computer engineering and the University of Michigan

He scraped by and graduated but knew right away that schooling wasn’t for him.

4. Vishen Lakhiani early career

career

When he graduated in 1999, he received an internship at Microsoft that he took, but now that he can look back at it, he realizes that the only reason he took that opportunity because it was the safe and responsible thing to do.

Vishen lasted 11 weeks at the job until he realized that working a typical “job” wasn’t for him, just like going to a typical “school” wasn’t for him either.

Something that Vishen realized early on that he was more fascinated by people than he was of anything else.

He spent more time in college volunteering than he did on studying or schoolwork.

He volunteered with a school organization called AIESEC, where he worked with students to create cross-cultural understanding

He enjoyed the process of creating a more unified educational experience.

4.1. The impact of meditation

After he left the job, he moved to New York, where he joined AIESEC for a salary that couldn’t even pay the bills

He didn’t care about the money, he was thrilled to be a part of this incredible organization.

At 24 years old, Vishen moved to Silicon Valley to try and make a name for himself

Little did he know he picked the worst time because he moved right around the time of the dot-com bubble, and he lost everything. He was renting a couch for $100 a month and driving a car that could barely stop never mind run.

He survived on a shoestring, and one night when he was feeling depressed and defeated, he did a Google search and discovered meditation.

As he got more and more involved in meditation, he realized that it had a profound effect on his work performance, his sales figures climbed, and he got promoted to the Director of Sales in four months

He was using his mind differently, he felt better and experienced an overall change in his mentality.

Meditation started to change his life, and he wanted to find a way to marry his two foundational learnings in his early life

He wanted to bring people together, and he wanted to teach others how to meditate

This is what led to him developing his own form of meditation, which is known as the 6 Phase Meditation.

5. Vishen Lakhiani net worth

While I haven’t been able to find any concrete evidence of a hard number pertaining to his net worth, Vishen Lakhiani is said to be worth around $40 million because that is the valuation of his company

His business earns him around $15 million per year, so it could be even more.

6. Vishen Lakhiani Mindvalley, Meditation, and Quest

Let’s talk about three of Vishen’s most prominent accomplishments in his life.

First, there is Mindvalley.

6.1. Mindvalley

Out of everything we’ve talked about so far, Mindvalley seems to be the thing that stands out most to me

There are workshops, talks, seminars, and networking that culminate in an experience that enhances your ability to think critically and work with others.

His goal was to bring together the best of the best people from across the planet, so everyone can make friends and experience life-changing mental shifts together

They conduct scheduled learning sessions, spontaneous gatherings, all of which lead to a deep connection and a feel of a community.

So, essentially, Mindvalley is a 21-day immersion seminar designed to teach you and your family the real-world life skills that the education system ignores.

These teachings then lead to personal growth that leads to paradigm shifts in your life.

He also says this a great opportunity for you to find your tribe, build relationships, and network with diverse people from all over.

I imagine it’s something like a Tony Robbins seminar with a little less “ra-ra” and a more introspective experience.

So what exactly can you expect to learn?

Vishen organizes the seminar and teachings into what he calls “tracks.”

Some of which include:

  • Live Longer, Look Better, Get Fit: A Deep Dive in Health Optimization
  • Becoming a Viral Filmmaker
  • How to Go from $1M to $50M: Lessons from the Trenches
  • How to Write and Publish a Best-Selling Book
  • How to Create a Million Fans on Instagram and Facebook
  • Money Mastery: Adopt the Mindset of the Super Rich with Ken Honda
  • The Lifebook Seminar (4 days)
  • The Buddha & the Badass: How to Master Your Work by Mastering Your Self (1 day)
  • The Silva Ultramind Seminar: Altered Training to Unleash Superpowers (2 days)
  • Becoming Extraordinary

6.2. 6 phase meditation

6 phase meditation

If there is one thing you can take away from Vishen, it is that he is a world-renowned expert on how to apply the benefits of meditation to your life

A lot of self-help gurus make you feel great while you’re listening to their videos or attending their seminars, but not that many provide you with something you can apply to your life.

Vishen tries to be different with the 6 phase meditation

This is one of his “quests,” and it’s entirely free.

He bases it on scientific studies from seven major universities and teaches you how to:

  • Boost your happiness by 20% or more
  • Condition your brain to experience more compassion
  • Envision your perfect day in vivid, high-definition detail
  • Amplify your energy and enjoy better health

Here’s what you get:

1. Seven Day Course

A seven-day Quest that guides you through every part of The 6 Phase Meditation philosophy.

2. Warm-Up Training

60-minute warm-up training sessions to deepen and perfect your 6 Phase Meditation practice.

3. Meditation Audio

Guided meditation audios for each part of The 6 Phase Meditation, plus one to use after the Quest.

7. Vishen Lakhiani books: The Code of the Extraordinary Mind

The Code of the Extraordinary Mind

Vishen has a lot of books, but we’re going to focus on the main one because it’s the one that really put him on the map as an accredited author

It’s called “The Code of the Extraordinary Mind.”

He says that everything we think we know about the world - our ideas of love, education, spirituality, work, and love are all based on bullshit rules

Everything that is passed on from generation to generation is outdated, and we need to adopt the mind of an independent thinker instead of a conformist.

8. A few of Vishen’s quotes to take with you

  • “Epic things start with small humble steps. Pay respect to your beginnings. And if you’re just starting out, know that it’s ok to be sucky. To be small. To be messy and chaotic. Just make sure to never stop dreaming.”
  • “Hack your past with forgiveness. Hack your present with mindfulness. And hack your future with ‘I AM ENOUGH.’”
  • “The most extraordinary people in the world today don’t have a career. They have a mission.”
  • “Gratitude is the key to happiness. When gratitude is practiced regularly, and from the heart, it leads to a richer, fuller, and more complete life.”
  • “People tend to live up to what you expect of them.”
  • “We’ve progressed as human beings in terms of our physical evolution, but not so much in terms of our mental progression – our mental evolution.”
  • “When you train yourself to not just think about the future, but to also celebrate where you came from – to think about where you were two years ago and pay attention to that gap – that’s when you’re able to create happiness in the now.”
  • “I’m a big believer in crafting your own philosophy in the world based on your experiences and based on how you want the world to work. I don’t believe in blindly accepting ideas or philosophies from generations past.”

9. Final Thoughts

Vishen lives his life quite differently from most of us, but we can learn a lot from his eccentric personality and unique style.

If nothing else, I would recommend tapping into his meditation knowledge with the 6 phase meditation and seeing how it can change your life.
